First Commonwealth Names Data Analytics/AI Leader To New Role

INDIANA, PA (December 15, 2025) ― With the advancement of artificial intelligence (AI) and strategic data use in business operations, First Commonwealth Bank is staying at the forefront of these technologies by adding a new leader to oversee these areas.

Mike Clark

Mike Clark, an Army veteran and data analyst specialist with more than a decade of experience in the financial industry, has been named Data Analytics and Strategy Leader for the bank.

“We are thrilled to welcome Mike to our team to guide our enterprise-wide data and AI strategies,” said Melissa Burba, First Commonwealth Senior Product Group Manager. “This is an exciting role for our growing bank. It has become increasingly critical that we have a centralized, cross-functional approach to data and reporting, and AI will also continue to play a growing role in our business. Mike’s expertise in these evolving areas of business operations will be a great asset to our team.”

In his role, Clark is responsible for developing and executing the bank's data strategy to enable data-driven decision-making, ensure regulatory compliance, and enhance customer insights and operational efficiency.

Before joining First Commonwealth, Clark spent the past 10 years at another local bank in a data analytics leadership role, the past year as the director of advance data and analytics.  Prior to that, he worked at UPMC Health Plan as a project manager and for the United States Army as a deputy director of human resources.

Clark received his master’s degree in Leader Development and Education from the United States Army Command and General Staff College in Fort Leonard Wood, MO.  He also received a bachelor’s degree in communications and media studies from Penn State University.
